How to actually hook up xmas lights to a spartan 3e board? Do i need an H-bridge?
Im looking to have xmas lights powered by my spartan 3e 100 board and have the coding done for the music I want. It is simply a bunch of delays and outputs but my question is if I output the signals from the jtag pins there would not be enough power or current to drive the led lights so how do I resolve this issue and be able to light up multiple xmas lights from the board?
Answer:
Unless you are using back2back or bi-color LEDs (were they do different things depending on which way the current is flowing), you don't need H-bridges, just drive transistors. An H-bridge is for controlling a bi-directional DC motor.
