Frequently Asked Questions...

Why are there humps in my ATX case where I mount my Motherboard?

Are these humps built in Risers, so I dont need to add any? Because I added Risers to the humps but now my motherboard does not match up with the I/O panel it came with. And also now my Pci slots dont match up with the expansion slots on the back of my computer. My tower is a xion onyx and My motherboard is a gigabyte ep45-ud3p. what should I do. Pleas help!!!!!!!

Answer:

Those "humps" are built-in standoffs. You wouldn't use standoffs in the holes on the humps but would use standoffs in the holes that aren't on humps and line up with mounting holes on the motherboard. If you check you will see that the standoffs included with the case are as long as the humps are high. The 6 humps are in standard spots for ATX and micro-ATX boards. Some boards may use 3 or 4 more of the other holes and thats when you would use the standoffs--for the holes without the humps. Since all boards use at least 6 standoffs in those spots they have those humps in those spots. They didn't put humps in other spots because, if the board didn't have mounting holes in those spots those humps would short or ground out on back of the board.
