FTA: They Are Watching You and Pirate Site Contributions
Many of your actions on the internet have not gone unnoticed
D*recTV employed private companies to take control of 'Piracy' sites during its earlier battles. Why not another provider?
There are many sites that are not under the control of who you may think. Take special care going to those sites that seem to be changing their messages, but offering nothing else. Watch out for sites hosted on the same server as suspected sites. If you're capable, routinely check the sites you visit or a member of by using a free online 'whois', IP address Tracking and/or a Reverse Trace.
Many sites that were shut down by past court judgements still maintain some type of presence, but attempt to hide it. The recent Reported 'IMMINENT' N3 Fix Rumor posting originated not from the site that had post it, but from such a site.
D*sh Network, Nagrastar and Digital Evidence International have mapped out all of the 'Pirate' sites posts, files, etc. Software applications are available to search and make mirror images of sites automatically. The Sonicview court documents and declarations mention just that.
The card share system called IKS, are 'Pirate' devices and this is being brought before the court in several cases.
With current technology anything can and will be traced. D*sh Network and Nagrastar have the 'Pirate' box receivers. The providers employ qualified and skilled engineers who have disasembled the codes used for this. Which includes the codes used to supposedly make the IKS server secure. What do you think the Federal authorities and the RCMP are doing with their criminal investigations? In the end offshore servers do not help you or anybody else and international law prevails, not to mention getting the North American 'Pirate' operators.
D*sh Network and B*ll have the ability to trace the cards, thanks to outside assistance (the government). The cams or cards being used in public card shares like IKS, for reasons of receiving the satellite signal and streaming this information through the internet, these units are located in North American continent. They have the ability to shut them down literally at will. They can idenify 'New' card share cam ID's within hours or days. When the investigation completes, any server or operator they do not catch will be shut down. No more IKS 'Pirate' programming. Your money went down the drain. It may be a very good idea to stay away from IKS.
Look what happened to the D*recTV sites. Many people donated to them, and none of them are around. Why waste money and put yourself at further risk.
A company out of Ontario, Canada that is employed by the providers and has been logging and making screen shots of FTA sites for the past 5 years. They have recently celebrated their one millionth screen shot taken. Any post where a person said they were watching a certain channel , at a certain time, on any receiver has been logged, as well as the "Thank You the file is working great, all channels up" posts.
While it is not illegal to post asking for help with a particular receiver set up, what TP a certain channel may be on or even to help somebody with a receiver set up issue, admitting you are receiving the programming is a admission of guilt.
Contributing to Pirate Sites, know the risk
Many of these sites that have you pay money know that a 'Fix' is not coming, at least in the forseeable future. They lead you on, or haven't you noticed? Begging for donations or charging an up front membership fee on some sites is now the norm. Online payments always leaves some sort of trace, unless you are smart about it. Educate yourself on how to be anonymous, there are ways. It is easy to get 'Paypal' transaction records containing all of 'YOUR' information.
The 'Pirate' sites say they are safe and secure because they have offshore accounts. That is not correct, in fact it is a bold-faced 'LIE'. The operators are U.S. and/or Canadian based. They are subject to the jurisdictions of the domestic courts, they are subject to the Anton Pillars and federal seizure laws. Identify the operators and you have the sites database and 'YOUR' information. Some sites claim they will not let this happen. When these sites are threatened with federal action, bankruptcy, threats of prosecution of family members, etc. More likely than not they cave-in and serve up your information to the authorities.
Earlier this year Freetech did just that by agreeing to cooperate with D*sh Network in current and future anti-piracy actions.
"Freetech, Inc., the South San Francisco based importer and distributer of the Coolsat line of Free-to-Air Satellite receivers announces that it will dissolve and cease operations as part of its agreement to resolve a lawsuit filed by D*SH Network, E*hoStar Technologies and N*graStar (collectively "D*SH Network"). D*SH Network filed suit against Freetech in December of 2007 asserting that Coolsat receivers were primarily designed and used for the piracy of D*SH Network's satellite television programming.
Freetech acknowledges that Coolsat receivers were used for this purpose and apologizes for any harm caused to D*SH Network. As part of the resolution of the lawsuit, the Court entered a consent judgment finding in favor of D*SH Network, E*hoStar and N*graStar in the aggregate amount of $106,000,000.00 and entering a permanent injunction against Freetech and its officers and certain employees. Freetech has also agreed to cooperate with D*SH Network in its current and future anti-piracy actions."
As many of you noticed, the Coolsat 3rd party release site has been down for some time.
