Frequently Asked Questions...
Bell ExpressVu Problems, all transponders have no readings what could be the problem?? Help!?
Well there was a huge storm here two days ago and ever since my expressvu hasn't worked. When you go in Point dish theres no single on any of the 38 transponders. I have gotten on the roof and looked at the dish and the connections and everything looks fine. Also I tested 2 other expressvu recievers and they both don't work either. So this would tell me that it isn't the receiver. I've switched the cables around and everything possible but still nothing. Maybe its the eye?? or?? please help me
Answer:
Sounds like your dish moved! The storm must have moved it.
Try this. Push menu 6-1-1 & get your signal strength up. Then go out to the dish while someone watches the tv & without loosening anything you (from behind the dish) pull back on the top of the dish, then push down on the top of the dish, then push the right side then the left side. If at any time the signal strength goes up, then you know which way you will have to move the dish.
Normally, in a windstorm it will drop down on the mount. You should also make sure everything is tight. If it moves easily without loosening anything, that's probably the cause.
If all else fails, you'll have to call someone in to re-align it.
A little hint for you too is to mark all your settings with a black marker, if you get too far off track just go back to these settings & try a different move. I'm sure you can get it back yourself. Just remember, go slow when you make any moves.
Good Luck!
