I see some houses with the S3 slimline SWM Technology and some with S5 Slimline whats the difference?
Answer:
The sl5 slimline can pick up signals from 5 different satellite positions vs 3 for the sl3. Some local channels in certain cities and most international programming packages require receiving from the two additional satellites, but most people who only subscribe to all of the "core" HD and SD channels only need the sl3.
If Directv is installing sl3s for some people in your city, that means that the the local HD channels for your city can be picked up with a sl3.
