Frequently Asked Questions...
How far apart can my satelitte reciver be from the 2nd TV?
We are about to get a dual DVR receiver from dish network and we are going to have it in the living room on top of our big screen TV (TV 1) now our 2nd TV (TV 2) is in our bedroom, on the same floor as our living room but the TV is by the back wall about 20 feet away from TV 1. Everyone I know has their TV's in close proximity to each other (back to back separated by a wall), should I change my bedroom around or can the satellite guy wire it to reach TV 2?
Answer:
Well, one option is to have a dual room installation - this would give you 2 separate receivers, but is slightly more expensive since you're paying for 2 receivers. In this setup, he would run 2 RF coax cables from your dish - one for your bedroom, and one for your living room.
If you're set on going with just one receiver, ask your installer about your options. Standard AV cables (yellow, red, white) can run for 50 feet without any discernible loss in signal, so you should be OK there. In this setup, he would have to run a set of AV cables from your living room into your bedroom to your other TV. If both of your TVs are located on an outside wall, this will be easier. Or, if you have a crawlspace, basement or attic that connects the two rooms, you can run the cable through that (though you may need to pay extra to get the installer to crawl into your attic or under your house...)
Of course, if you know where the TVs are located, and you don't mind doing the work yourself, you could always purchase a set of 50' RCA cables, drill the holes, and run the cables yourself. A basement makes this easier - you can just drill the hole through your floor in an unobtrusive corner, or behind your A/V center, then run the cable along the ceiling in the basement, before going back up into the other room. Make sure you leave plenty of cable on each end so you can connect it to the TV or receiver.

The Comment of DM800 OEM Given out by Users
DM800 is a Dreambox which supports satellite HDTV signal decoding. Since the tendency of video is HD now, DM800 has become more and more popular and will quickly catch up with the most famous Dreambox - DM500. The released OEM version of DM800 makes the price of DM800 decreased; this also makes it can be accepted by most fans of satellite TV. In such a tendency, the fans who want to buy DM800 ought to know the comment of DM800 from its users, and this will help them away from the misleading of the market. There are some items that the users comment. 1. AC adapter. Like the adapter of other Dreambox, the adapter of DM800 OEM also has the color of black. The other accessories are black, too. The output of the AC adapter is 12V/4A, a little lower than the official versions (They use the 12V/3A output adapter.). You don't have to change a more powerful one even if you want to add a hard drive into DM800. 2. Fan radiator. The model of the fan is AB3505MX-GA0, produced by ADDA Inc, TW. And this model is a DC blower under the series of AB35XX. The size of this series is very small (35mm * 35mm * 10mm). The noise level of AB3505MX-GA0 is only 27.5dB/A, so it fits laptop and set-tops well. In this version of DM800 OEM, the factory pastes the fan radiator to the main chip BCM7401 directly. There isn't a radiating sheet between the radiator and the chip. Since the voltage the fan requires to work is 5 volt, so there are two resistances series connected to the power supply in order to make the 12 volt input reduce to 5 volt. The circuit which the fan requires to work is 0.11A. There is a 2P socket on the systemboard so that users can turn on or turn off the fan according to their need and the temperature of the environment. 3. The comments give out by netizens. The DM800 OEM is as powerful as the original version. But it is easily to be system crash and it is easily to be broken down if you upgrade the operating system using the RJ-45 interface. Form the comment we know that the OEM version is powerful though, it has some glitches. So if you want to buy a DM800 OEM, you should pay attention to the quality of the machine.
