Frequently Asked Questions...
Is the tenant responsible for communal satellite?
My satellite connection in my bedroom stopped working but it still works in the front room. This is a wiring issue and I have enquired my landlord and they say it is not their responsibility. It is a communal satellite shared by i would say around 12 or so flats. I am in the UK and this satellite has been here long before we moved in (pretty sure it was when the block was built) the connections are wired in through a socket with Sat, FM and TV. Who's responsibility is it? I am using it for FTA and am not a sky subscriber.
Answer:
As it is a communal aerial, it will be the responsibility of the freeholder. As you have no contract with the freeholder, you will have to ask your landlord (who HAS got a contract with the freeholder) to ask them to fix it.
Alternatively, ask if you may organise your own sky dish. This may be your only viable alternative without going to court over it for breach of contract (as the aerial is not covered by the landlords repairing obligations in section 11 of the 1985 Landlord & Tenant Act).

Nothing could be extra convincing than real first-hand data. The new TV which we had now bought previous week is living instance. It's the newest model on the LCD series of a branded Japanese create. Beside with all the advanced features, it can be linked to various external devices, including PCs. That completed me sat up and took notice immediately. To me, such big-name companies perform not design new features into their products now by gut suffer or guesswork. This TV and PC integration appears to be a possible tendency setter.
On the outside, it seems as simple as now using the TV as a computer monitor other than that would not jive from the point of view of expediency and technology. Other than when you view it as equipping the TV to believe transmission via the PC, it starts to create sense. Yes, large-scale TV through PC must be on the horizon.
The PC can handily supplant the set-top boxes. It has extra ability and it does not incur any extra attempt or expense. In fact, here is savings to be realized from side to side equipment optimization overall. It would not be lengthy currently before TV becomes mainly accessed from side to side house computers. It's a rare house these days that has no PC with internet right of entry anyway and wouldn't it be novel if TV could come from side to side the PC via the internet too?
An extra method the PC can play a part in TV viewing is by functioning as a DVD player. Another time, why have a duplicate set of DVD player when you can now cable it out of your PC while having extra all-round stylish power at it than the committed stand-alone DVD player any day.
Possibly the actual get through in the Computer-TV integration is in the inherent internet TV. This form of TV is nothing novel other than had been exactly stuttering due to speed constraints. Not any longer, broadband has cast this handicap into record for superior. They are mostly free-To-Air (FTA) Satellite TV streamed from side to side the internet instead of the dish to your computers and there are free and fee-based versions. Each has its merits other than both are praiseworthy options to the old method.
