If the motherboard is only capable of running memory modules of 667MHz as a maximum, will the an 800 MHz RAM module work on this board. I know I will not get a 800MHz speed, but can the module run at 667MHz on this system?
Answer:
If the boards max speed is 667 mhz than the memory will down clock to that speed. Check your Mother boards manufacture site and see if there is a Bios update that might change the ram speed to 800 mhz.
